Matt Duker has over 23 years of experience in running conveyancing files and was actively involved in the early infancy phase of establishing conveyancing companies in Melbourne. For more than a decade, Matt has successfully owned and operated his own conveyancing practice. He is deeply passionate about looking after the needs of his clients, and he takes pride in saving them money, particularly by offering valuable pre-Contractual advice to purchasers. Furthermore, he oversees the management of client matters through to settlement, ensuring a smooth process for his clients.
Spending a year away from conveyancing in one of Melbourne’s largest real estate agency groups in a sales role, Matt was able to understand first-hand the need to have Contracts and Section 32 Statements prepared quickly to make the most of early buyer interest. He was also able to hone his negotiation skills during his stint in real estate. This valuable experience gives Matt’s clients the edge when it comes to their own purchase or sale as Matt is well able to advise clients of the tactics and secrets used in property transactions.
It was during his time in real estate that Matt met Brett Hayton and Matt was wooed back into conveyancing after being impressed by Brett’s ideas on utilising the power of internet to assist vendors by preparing Contracts on-line. In 2007, Matt founded Conveyancing Excellence and was one of the early band of conveyancers in Victoria to be granted a conveyancing licence. After seeing how they could both benefit, Matt and Brett merged Conveyancing Excellence and Hayton Kosky Lawyers under the one roof in 2010. Matt is thrilled to be able to offer Conveyancing Excellence clients a broader range of services all under the one roof (such as Wills, Probates, Leases as well as sage legal advice).
Matt has always been passionate about customer service since his early teenage observations working in his family’s aluminium window business. With a Business degree majoring in Marketing, combining his extensive conveyancing experience and knowledge of Victorian property law, Matt has always striven to help make his clients confident and comfortable about their property transactions. He understands the needs of investors, developers and home owners alike, as Matt has also bought and sold a number of his own properties over the years.
When he’s not working, Matt enjoys a hit of tennis, a kick of the footy and supporting his Navy Blues. He holds strong Christian values and enjoys nothing more than relishing life with his wife and children.
